July Medals Of The Month

The Walled City Marathon 2013 medal

July Medal of the Month

Choosing just one 2013 July Medal of the Month was so difficult, that we ended up choosing 3 instead!

Tour of Merseyside

The Tour of Merseyside medals are really eye-catching in a classic Antique Gold finish, and feature a deluxe superwide ribbon.

Staged over 6 races, the tour covers 52 miles starting with the Southport Half Marathon on Sunday 7th July.

Race 2 is a cross-country event on Monday 8th July, followed by a 10 mile cycle trail on Tuesday.

Wednesday represents a day off followed with the shortest distance of the 6 events – the 5 Mile Halton Road Race.

Race 5 is another cross-country event over 6 miles. The Tour of Merseyside finishes on Saturday 13th July with the Wirral Coastal Run over 12 miles.

The Walled City Marathon

The beautiful Walled City Marathon medal is a bit of a giant at 100mm wide and 10mm thick.

The 2013 event took place on Sunday 2nd June and saw athletes from Ireland, Britain and across the world travel to Derry to compete over a stunning 26.2 mile course taking in all the sights and sounds of the city.

The challenging route followed the neighbourhoods of the city, the rural villages, the banks of the River Foyle and the city’s 2 bridges before returning to the Walled City for a finish in the historic Guildhall Square to pick up their giant Bespoke Medal.

The Go Dad Run

Shaped like a pair of y-fronts, the Go Dad Run medal incorporates a light-hearted design.

The new charity event enables men and boys, fathers and sons plus girls up the the age of 12 to participate in a 5k fun run in Anglesey, Wales on the 16th June 2013.

The organisers believe this segment of society is overlooked with the event helping to enhance a man’s quality time with his family.

In addition to strengthening the bond and teamwork between father and son, the initiative will also improve the overall levels of health and fitness awareness of all participants while raising funds for men’s charities.

Results, photographs and more information about the event can be found on their website at www.godadrun.co.uk.
