September 2017 Medal of the Month

September

The votes have been counted for the 2017 September Medal of the Month competition and we are pleased to reveal that September’s winning medal is Farleigh Wallop Trail Race for Hatch Warren Runners!

The Farleigh Wallop Trail Race is a relatively challenging trail running in and around the surrounding villages of Farleigh Wallop.  Participants followed a scenic 10K route over an old railway line, across open fields, and through beautiful woodland areas. Huge congratulations to everyone who took part in the event!

The winning medal did have some particularly challenging contenders however, including:

Stratford’s Big 10K for Tempo Events

Stratford’s Big 10K is a course that takes its participants past all the significant places that Stratford has to offer; including the Bards RSC Theatre. The event had an impressive 1400 runners and is already preparing for its 10th Anniversary run in 2018!

Kent Coastal Half Marathon for County Solicitors

This half marathon leads its runners past the world-famous Bays surrounding Margate, Broadstairs, and Ramsgate. Participants had the opportunity to take in the scenic views whilst running over the beautiful Kent coastline, all with encouragement from the supportive marshals at the sidelines.

Worcester City 10K for Worcester City Run

The Worcester City 10K took its thousands of runners past some of the city’s best sights including the River Severn, and the beautiful Worcester Cathedral.  This year has a record-breaking turnout with almost 4000 people signing up to the Worcester City 10K its two other accompanying events that day.

L’Etape London for Tour de France

With a choice of three different routes to choose from, this intense route had its cyclists riding up through North East London and back again. Tour De France winner Andy Schleck also participated in the event.

Velo Birmingham for Velo Birmingham

15,000 cyclists took part in the first ever Velo Birmingham cycling event, which took its participants on an unforgettable 100-mile journey through the picturesque West Midlands countryside.

Be sure to keep a lookout for next month’s video so you can vote for October’s Medal of the Month!
